The Ketie Memory Jones Memorial Arts Award has been officially ENDOWED!!!
We are blown away by the support from the Charlotte community. Thanks to your generosity, the Ketie Memory Jones Memorial Arts Award will live on forever as it is awarded annually to creative individuals studying art, music, dance, and theatre at UNC Charlotte. The endowment will remain open so that we can accept funds to help this scholarship grow. We look forward to providing additional updates when the scholarship is awarded in approximately a year. Like Ketie, it will be a never-ending light upon us to steward.
Thank you for your incredible support!
Sincerely,
Mark Colone UNC Charlotte Gift Officer
Today we are just over 91% to goal with two days remaining in the campaign. The FS Food Group has just generously agreed to help us reach our goal by matching all donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,000, for the next 48 hours.
With your help, I'm confident we can reach our goal. Please share the campaign with your social network to help us honor Ketie's life and love for the world.
Thanks again for your donations, participating in the Ketie Krawl, and spreading the word.
Sincerely,
Mark Colone, '83 UNC Charlotte Gift Officer
P.S. You can read a beautifully sad story about Ketie here that will appear in next month's Charlotte Magazine.
Friends & Family,
Kétie would be beside herself seeing how the love and trust in our community strengthened in the face of losing her, instead of giving into despair, mistrust, and anger. The community rallied around those closest with personal, emotional, and financial support.
It's very difficult to look past the meaninglessness of what happened to Kétie. I struggle to think of why and how this happened everyday. This project has helped by creating something meaningful to remember her, enrich the community she loved so much, and give deserving students the opportunity to pursue Ketie's passions at UNC Charlotte.
There will be several events this week, starting today, to celebrate Ketie and raise awareness of this project. Share, give, join, smile at a stranger, give a hug, dance, draw, paint, rejoice. Please visit the Ketie Memory Jones Memorial Arts Award page for more information on how to participate.
I would like to express my enormous gratitude to my family, my friends, the folks at UNC Charlotte, fellow Providence High School (North Carolina) friends who knew Ketie, and the greater Charlotte community for all the love and support you have shown.
Sincerely,
Brendan Coffey

Thanks again for honoring Ketie’s life and love for the arts.
Just create, that’s you. The gal who wore the kookiest leggings to every musical rehearsal.
A woman with a heart that was bigger than a world like this deserved.
