In honor of Ketie's memory, her passion for the arts, and her love for Charlotte and its community- her family and friends have decided to create an endowed scholarship at UNC Charlotte in the Arts (Art, Dance, Music and Theatre) for CMS students with financial need.
Ketie Jones brought light and joy into your life whether you'd known her for years or met her in passing. Her light-hearted, charismatic passion for living, her endless compassion and love for all creatures and her appreciation of the small simple joys in life made Ketie hard to forget. She was kind, selfless, exuberant, a joy and a bright smile.
Ketie had a passion for creativity of all kinds. Apart from studying theatre design in New York City, Ketie enjoyed acting, singing, drawing, crafting, and more. She returned from the 'Big Apple' and fell in love with Charlotte and the Plaza Midwood neighborhood. She worked at Midwood Smokehouse and became integral in the fabric of the Plaza Midwood community.
On October 15, our world got darker as she was taken from us in a senseless act of violence. This perpetual scholarship would give students in circumstances similar to Ketie's the means to pursue their passion. Help us honor Ketie by doing something completely aligned with her character- helping complete strangers in need.

Just create, that’s you. The gal who wore the kookiest leggings to every musical rehearsal.
A woman with a heart that was bigger than a world like this deserved.
