Two years ago Dr. Jeannine Skinner was taken from life too soon. She was a great colleague and friend to many of us at UNC Charlotte, and she is dearly missed every day by colleagues, students, and friends within the University and the larger Charlotte community.
Thank you for helping us create a lasting legacy for Jeannine by donating to her Memorial Scholarship fund. We are less than $5,000 away from meeting our final goal of $25,000 which will allow us to turn this fund into an endowed scholarship that will be annually given in perpetuity.
During our memorial Jaye walk earlier this month, Dr. Skinner's friend and colleague, Dr. Anita Blanchard, recited the end of a Maya Angelou poem that perfectly captured Dr. Skinner's radiance.
"When Great Trees Fall." Our senses, restored, never to be the same, whisper to us. They existed. They existed. We can be. Be and be better. For they existed.
Thank you for donating to the Dr. Jeannine S. Skinner Memorial scholarship so that we can help our students Be and Be Better because Jeannine existed.
Thank you so much for supporting the Dr. Jeannine S. Skinner Memorial Scholarship! You have helped us reach the $15,000 mark. Now, we look forward to reaching our larger goal of an endowment by raising $25,000.
Please continue to share Dr. Skinner's story with friends and colleagues, every gift honors her wonderful legacy and will benefit UNC Charlotte students.
Thank you so much for supporting the Dr. Skinner Memorial Scholarship. Your gift will soon help students receive aid as they continue on their academic journey at UNC Charlotte.
Students who receive this scholarship will conduct research in the fields of psychology and/or gerontology. The scholarship will also help fund research related to Dr. Skinner's own interest in neuropsychology and her work on improving the physical and psychologic health of seniors through physical activity.
Your gift honors Dr. Skinner's memory and will help carry on her spirit and passion at UNC Charlotte.
