About LACE

Latines for Action, Change, and Empowerment (LACE) was created in 2024 by Latinx students who saw a gap and decided to do something about it.

We’re here to raise awareness of the social, economic, and political issues impacting our comunidad, and to make sure Latinx students don’t just have a seat at the table, but a voice that’s heard. Through education, advocacy, and community connection, LACE empowers students with the tools to understand their rights, speak up for themselves, and show up for each other.

But our work doesn’t stop on campus.

LACE is committed to bridging the gap between UNC Charlotte and the broader Charlotte community. We believe real change happens when students and community members come together, share knowledge, and invest in the next generation of leaders.

Why We’re Fundraising

As a newer organization, we’re building something meaningful from the ground up.

Your support helps us:

• Host a charity gala that brings students, alumni, and community members together
• Potentially launch a LACE Scholarship, supporting local Charlotte students
• Fund programs that educate and empower Latinx students through advocacy and civic engagement
• Expand outreach efforts that connect campus and community

Every dollar raised goes directly toward creating opportunities, reducing barriers, and uplifting Latinx voices in Charlotte.
