Sigma Tau Delta 2026 Conference
Pride & Prejudice Movie Night Fundraiser Pictures!!
Hi everyone,
Thank you to all the faculty and friends that took time out of their day to support students in their movie event last night! It was a night full of many laughs, sappy tears, and moving conversations. After the movie showing, students stayed late to have a conversation with Professor Rowney about the time period Jane Austen was writing in, the differences between the novel and its 2005 film adaptation, the possible literary connections ranging from Bible allusions to later writers drawing inspirations from Austen's writing, among other topics!
The donations received from this event will help fund students’ Sigma Tau Delta Conference trip to New Orleans this March!! Only $300 until we reach our goal!!
Special thanks to our professors who promoted our event in their classes, sent reminders to students, stopped by for a bit or simply wished us a great event. Our success and drive to make these events happen would not be present if it weren't for our mentors that have encouraged and continue to encourage their students beyond classroom instruction. Community makes genius and genius starts in the simple acts of kindness shown by our wonderful faculty.

87% Almost there!!! Student's Bake Sale Update + Fun Pics!
Hi everyone!
We have hit 87% of our goal thanks to the continuous support of family, friends, and mentors.
On February 13th students held a bake sale that included baked goods made by students themselves. We presented a variety of yummy goods packaged in cute, compact boxes with a literary sticker on top (just to add our bookish nature to the twist!). Some of the baked goods on display included: brownies, chocolate chip cookies, cheese cornbread, carrot cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes, chocolate muffins, among other delicious treats. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to support our event (despite the extremely windy day!!) and to have a yummy treat. Our bake sale served as an important aspect of getting closer to our funding goal. Below are some pics of our colorful table on display during that windy windy day. Again, thank you to our wonderful community for continuing to support us!

We have reached 68% of our goal!!!
Hello everyone,
On behalf of the 10 students who are set to attend the 2026 Sigma Tau Delta Conference in New Orleans, we want to say thank you for everyone's unyielding support. We continue to receive donations from family, friends, and mentors as they support our endeavor to fund our conference trip to New Orleans. In order to reach a wider audience we have made a flyer containing a QR code that will take everyone to our crowdfunding page by simply scanning it. Next to the QR code is a list of students' critical and creative pieces that were accepted to this conference! Feel free to share these flyers with local businesses, your work establishments, or anyone that you think would support our project.
Coming soon: On Friday, February 13th student presenters will be having their first conference practice session!!! Stay tuned as we will post some pictures from this gathering. Here you will be able to see the faces that are working behind the scenes to make this conference adventure a reality.
Thank you for everyone's continuous support! Stay warm!

Novel Ideas
“Write what should not be forgotten.”-- Isabel Allende. Fiction is, as readers know, always an appeal to "truth." Jane Austen adds, perhaps a little harshly, "The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.” Let's create novel (and smart) ideas together!

Epic Thoughts
John Milton wrote "The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven.” Elizabeth Barrett Browning reminds us that "A cheerful genius suits the times, /And all true poets laugh unquenchably." Make an "epic" donation and enjoy unquenchable laughter and heavenly thoughts.
