We are very excited this year because we will be sending TEN students whose work has been accepted for presentation at the New Orleans meeting. Their projects range from literary criticism to poetry to fiction.  It is a matter of great pride for our Chapter and the Department that EVERY student submission was accepted.  And, it is also thrilling, that the group--the largest number that we have ever sent to the convention--is almost equally divided between undergraduates and graduates.

UNC Charlotte is proud to be very active Chapter of  Sigma Tau Delta (ΣΤΔ), The English Honor Society.  Sigma is one of the oldest and most prestigious honor societies in the nation.  We sponsor social, intellectual, and scholarly activities on campus throughout the year. For the last seven years, our chapter which now in its 42nd year, has been able to send students to the national convention, where they present papers, participate in roundtables, or read their creative work. 

Our officers have been organizing many exciting literary events on campus to engage students and create a community within the Sigma Tau Delta society. One of these events involves a bake sale combined with a mystery book sale to fundraise for the conference.  

Still, it will take additional resources to send all 9 participants to the convention.  For that reason, Sigma Tau Delta is crowdfunding this spring to raise awareness and support of our trip to the conference. Funding will help cover the costs for registration, travel, and accommodations and may support future students if the trip is fully funded.
