Over the course of spring break, we sent a total of 38 members from UNC Charlotte NSBE to NSBE2025, NSBE’s National Convention in Chicago, IL! Over 400 companies were in attendance at the 2-day career fair across a vast variety of industries such as renewable energy, biomedical technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and industrial automation. Members from our chapter secured interviews with a selection of companies, including Edwards Lifesciences, Whiting-Turner, Eaton, LyondellBasell, American Express, and more. In addition, a few of our members attended a luncheon for schools in partnership with Corning Inc. Special thank you to Corning and Nkechi Anako especially for extending the invitation to us and for all of your work with us this past year!
This conference was not just a memorable moment for our chapter but also NSBE as an organization. At the convention, NSBE celebrated its 50th anniversary with the theme “Inspire! Excel! Impact!”, which directly hits at the heart of NSBE’s mission to “increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.” Commemorating NSBE’s history, present impact, and future aspirations richly added to this year’s convention.
Overall, the chapter had an incredible experience at NSBE2025 and we greatly look forward to attending next year’s convention. We are truly grateful to all of our donors for your contribution to a successful trip!

NSBE has been busy this month. We focused on financial literacy thanks to a representative from Corning who came to speak to our group about budgeting and other personal finance topics.
NSBE has also been active in the community during Black Energy Awareness Month (BEAM). We participated in BEAM events in the EPIC building on campus that were put together by the American Association of Blacks in Energy. Our group got in front of over 250 middle and high school students who were in attendance for this event.
Thank you for those who have generously supported NSBE! Our team is 96% to our crowdfunding goal with 11 days remaining in our campaign.
