Our contingent of students (see below) not only presented wonderful work at the conference, but impressed everyone with whom they met... as great scholars and extraordinary people. They made connections with students from the University of Colorado and the University of Guam... which we hope to sustain!
Rowan Grayson, Sigma's Secretary, has two exciting projects. He currently at Tulane (Feb 23-March 7) visiting the special collection in their Latin American Library and looking at two periodicals from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 1887-1889. Tulane has one of the largest collections of Brazilian rare newspapers in the US. His trip is funded by the Mark West Scholarship.
Over the break, Erin Dulin --President of our Sigma Tau Delta Chapter-- visited University of St. Andrews and Oxford University where she's considering graduate work in Victorian Studies. She was accompanied by a very proud and supportive Dad! Here she is in St. Andrews.
A great success this year! Our students do the VERY best job of representing the English Department.
Thank you!
And Happy Belated Valentine's Day to all!

Hi, my name is Rowan (he/him), the Chapter Secretary. I'm double majoring in English (Literature & Culture) and Latin American Studies with a minor in Diverse Literatures & Cultural Studies. I can be found loitering in Fretwell 5 days a week; if you see me, feel free to come say hi! Fun fact: I am learning Portuguese so I can study Brazilian and Luso-African literature. | |
Hi... I'm Kramer, the Sigma Tau Delta Mascot. I won't be heading out to Denver, but I will spend time reading Shakespeare's wonderful play Hamlet, an important work about a "Great Dane." |
