Hello everyone! This is the first update and there is a lot the team has already been able to accomplish thanks to your help!
PDR
To begin, The 49er Rocketry Team has completed their PDR milestone presentation! Aaron Langhorne, Sean McClanahan, Meghan Fragomeni, Jacob Barker, and Parker Pschorr were the speakers for this presentation. They were able to present our hard work and designs to NASA within the time constraint given. Afterward, the team was able to answer any and all questions that NASA had regarding our design. NASA stated that we have produced stellar quality so far and are on the path to success.
Sub-Scale
Following this, the team has put in a great deal of work and effort and is pleased to announce the completion of our subscale rocket. After several hours of testing and construction, it was officially time to launch this past weekend. The launch took place in Midland, NC on Sunday, November 20th. A link to a video of this launch can be found here.
Future Plans
The 49er Rocketry Team plans on doing more launches with our subscale and then the team will shift toward the CDR document and presentation.
Additionally, everyone who donated, be on the lookout for an email regarding the name of the sub-scale rocket! We look forward to seeing what name ends up winning!
Thank you for all of your continued support and we look forward to giving you more updates throughout this competition. GO NINERS!
The Moon level will assist the team in paying for the motors that are required to launch the rocket!
Reaching our Galaxy level will allow a vote towards the competition rocket and the submission of a name idea for voting on the subscale rocket.
Reaching our Supernova level gives you access to all of the previous as well as the submission of a name idea for voting on the competition rocket.
