The Women in Math and Statistics Scholarship not only reached, but surpassed the campaign goal of $25,000 thanks to your generous support.
"We truly appreciate your donation and support! Without you, this would not have been possible." - Actuarial Science Club at UNC Charlotte
"The husband and family of Marie Josée Mukamwiza express our sincere gratitude for your support in getting the Women in Math and Statistics fund to the endowment level, and help the vision of alumnus Marie Josée Mukamwiza become a reality. We thank Dr. Wafaa Shaban for the guidance, encouragements she gave to Josee and efforts toward establishing the fund. Last, we thank the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for giving Josee this great opportunity." - Frederic Hien
We are looking forward to sharing more updates as this scholarship will now be awarded in perpetuity!
It’s been one year since we began this campaign to endow a scholarship in memory of Marie Josee Mukamwiza, a 2005 UNC Charlotte graduate who had a passion for math and statistics. To date, we’ve raised $24,174 toward our $25,000 goal.
Help us meet our goal of endowing this scholarship by renewing your support and sharing this project with your network. We need just $826 to award this scholarship in perpetuity to honor Josee.
Thank you again for investing in future math, statistics, and actuarial leaders.
We are excited to announce that we have met the $3,000 matching challenge from Fred Hien, Marie Josee's husband, for the Women in Math and Statistics Scholarship.
We've now raised $20,425 towards the $25,000 endowment goal, where the scholarship will honor Josee and support women studying Math and Statistics in perpetuity.
Thank you once again for your generous support.
We are excited to announce that Fred Hien, Marie Josee's husband, has agreed to match all donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $3,000, to the Women in Math and Statistics Scholarship. Please take advantage of this opportunity and help give students a chance to pursue their education in this field.
Thank you so much for your support!
Sincerely,
The Actuarial Science Club
