Brown, Caldwell, Couthen Winston-Salem Endowed Scholarship Purpose and Objective

We are Frenchie Brown, Rhonda Caldwell and Kim Couthen, three proud alumnae of UNC Charlotte who are also proud graduates of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. We established this scholarship to empower, strengthen and provide financial support for anyone from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System allowing them to pursue their educational dream.

This fund provides scholarship support to incoming full-time freshman students who are currently residents and graduates of any high school in Winston – Salem, NC/Forsyth County. The preferred scholarship recipient comes from a single parent home and has experience in or a commitment to workings with the African American community and is also committed to ensuring gender, racial and socio-economic equity, and equality.

We are products of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System, but it was UNC Charlotte that brought us together for a lifetime. Seeing, embracing, and understanding the priorities of single parents when it comes to educating their children, as well as identifying with African American students in pursuit of higher education, is the fabric of who we are.

Support the Brown, Caldwell, Couthen Scholarship today to provide opportunities for Winston-Salem 49ers to find a promising career path and establish life-long friendships.
