Women's Club Rugby 25-26
Women's Club Rugby
UNC Charlotte Women’s Club Rugby is more than just a team. We are a family of dedicated college athletes who push each other to succeed on and off the field. In Spring 2024, we placed 7th in the DII NRC CRC 7s tournament in Boyds, Maryland, and in Fall 2024, we advanced to the 15s conference championships. Our mission is to build strong, resilient athletes while fostering growth in academics, leadership, and lifelong connections.
This year, we are setting our sights even higher. Just like last season, our goal is to qualify for nationals again and place even higher in our division. To make that happen, we will need to travel across states for tournaments in Maryland, Tennessee, and Georgia. Travel is one of our biggest expenses, and the costs of hotels, gas, meals, and tournament fees quickly add up.
Beyond travel, we are also working to upgrade our equipment. Replacing worn-out rugby balls, practice pinnies, and other gear will ensure we can train at our best and stay competitive.
We strongly believe that Every Body is a Rugby Body, and we need your support to continue spreading that message. Your donation will help cover essential travel costs, provide updated equipment, and allow us to keep building a community where every athlete can thrive.
Your donation will help cover the cost of expenses for the Women's Club Rugby team.

Knock-On
A knock-on occurs when the ball is knocked forward off of a player’s body in any way other than a kick. At the knock-on level, you can cover part of the cost of one new rugby ball!
$10
Scrum
A scrum is one way to restart play after a minor infringement. Both teams’ forwards bind up in three rows and then bind onto each other so that the front rows are interlocked. The scrumhalf throws the ball into the gap between the two front rows, and the hookers on both teams try to hook the ball back with their feet while the other forwards try to drive the opposing team away from the ball. At the Scum Level, you can cover the cost of one hotel room for a tournament in another state!
$50
Line-Out
A line-out occurs when the ball goes out-of-bounds. Two lifters on each team will lift a jumper into the air to catch the ball, which is then passed to the scrumhalf. At the Line-Out Level, you can cover the cost of half a member's registration fees.

'With You'
In rugby, players often shout “With you!” to let the ball carrier know they have support nearby. It’s a quick way of saying “I’m right here if you need to pass” or “You’re not alone, I’ve got your back.” Since rugby is such a fast, physical, and team-oriented game, clear communication is essential. Saying “With you” reassures the ball carrier that they don’t have to take on defenders alone, and it helps build trust and flow within the team. Helps with the cost of one hotel room!
