Who We Are
The UNC Charlotte Equestrian Club is more than just a team - we’re a community of students who share a passion for horses and competition. Whether you’ve never ridden before or have been riding your whole life, we welcome all students who want to learn, grow, and compete.
Our show team currently has 23 members competing in Zone 4 Region 3 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). Beyond competitions, we participate in barn cleanups, fun shows, and bake sales - all while building skills, confidence, and lifelong friendships.
Our Goal: Making Equestrian Dreams Accessible
Horseback riding is a thrilling and rewarding sport - but it comes with a high price tag. Membership and training fees quickly add up, and competition costs (including entry, travel, and lodging) create barriers for many students.
This Spring, we aim to remove these financial barriers so our riders can focus on what they love: improving their skills and competing at their best. Funds will help cover:
- Competition Costs: Entry fees range from $125–$175 per class. Travel and lodging costs add up quickly.
- Equipment & Gear: Saddles, bridles, helmets, and other essentials.
- Facility Upkeep & Barn Expenses: Ensuring a safe and well-maintained space for our horses and riders.
- Team Merchandise: Jerseys, apparel, and gear that promote team spirit.
Cost Breakdown
Our initial crowdfunding goal is $1,500, which will go directly toward supporting these areas and ensuring that no rider has to sit out because of cost.
