25-26 NASA Student Launch Competition
Proposal Acceptance
Hello Donors,
I am happy to announce that the 49er Rocketry Team has been accepted into the 2025-2026 NASA USLI Competition! We have been working diligently on our Preliminary Design Review, an approximately 200 page document we must submit to NASA by November 3rd. We are also preparing for a presentation we must give NASA on the work we've been doing, which will occur in mid November. Soon we'll start spending your money on making a subscale rocket to prove to NASA that our overall design will work. None of this would be possible without your support, so thank you Donors!
Best,

First Outreach Event and Proposal Submission
Good morning y'all,
The 49er Rocketry Team had a busy weekend this past Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the team hosted a lab at Discovery Place Charlotte. As one of our partners, they allow us to perform quality outreach events in their Tech Innovation Lab. We had a number of interactive activities. We had 3D printed modular toy rockets, several previous payloads, and we even made a working wind tunnel to show guests! We also brought two competition rockets and allowed children to assemble the booster (bottom section) of a competition rocket with a team member's guidance. We had over 120 guests come into the lab. Below are a few photos!
We also submitted our proposal to NASA Sunday. We are incredibly proud of how well it turned out and worked on it for a combined1150 hours in 4 weeks! Thank you for your support, your donations allow us to compete in the competition and host interactive and engaging outreach events.
Best,
Hunter

Earth Level
Earth Level donations will go towards buying more expensive electronics such as motors and actuators. These donations will also go towards supplies for our outreach events to make them more interactive and impactful for the audience. Examples include 3D printing modular rockets and a miniature wind tunnel so children will have a more hands on experience.
$50
Mars Level
Donations from Mars Level sponsors will go towards buying the airframe of the rocket, including body tubes, couplers, and fiberglass.
$100
Jupiter Level
Jupiter Level donations will go towards buying a wide variety of items including parachutes, shock cords and tools needed to make the rocket.
$200
Saturn Level
Saturn Level donations will allow us to buy components for our subscale rocket, which must be successfully launched for us to begin constructing the competition rocket.
