The Intercollegiate Mock Mediation crowdfunding project has ended for NOW. We reached 41% of our goal, which will allow the Fall 2017 UNC Charlotte Mediation teams to compete regionally. You will receive an update with the students' picture. We hope to get support from these students' friends and family to reach sufficient funds to go on to the nationals. We would like to connect the new mediators with past mediators and professionals also. Thank you so much for your assistance. It would NOT have happened without you.
Congrats to our Outback Steakhouse raffle winner, Caleb Holloway!
Our 2017 International Mock Mediation Tournament will be held this November 3 & 4. UNC Charlotte students will not be able to participate unless we reach our goal of $5,000.
Thank you again for your support. We only have two days remaining in our campaign. Please share this project with your social network to help us close out a successful campaign. We have just 11 days left in the crowdfunding campaign, and are over 32% towards our goal. Thanks again for your support for this program that has seen so much success over the last ten years. Please watch the video linked below as my former student, Diego, talks about his experience in mediation. You can help us reach our goal by sharing this opportunity with your network.
In 2007 UNC Charlotte students began participating in the Regional Intercollegiate Mock Mediation Tournaments, quickly bringing recognition to the University by receiving an award. The team has racked up several awards each year including, team award at the John Marshall School of Law for the national tournament (2008), national team awards at Drake University Law School (2009 & 2010), and Peacemaker Award for top mediator/advocate/client combined scores (2014).
However, in 2016 the team didn't receive any awards as there were no funds available for students to compete. Please help us continue to spread the word so that every UNC Charlotte student has the opportunity to put their learned skills to the test.
Sincerely,
Vivian B. Lord, PhD Professor, Criminal Justice and Criminology
