UNC Charlotte Ultimate Frisbee - Skyrise

Skyrise is the men's ultimate Frisbee team for UNC Charlotte. Starting just over a decade ago in 2012, this team has always been built on the connections between our players. Because of our continued dedication to ourselves and the betterment of the program, we have made steady progress and improvements year in and year out to establish ourselves as nationally competitive. Our team not only pushes players to be the best versions of themselves physically but also to provide a brotherhood and bond that follows us far beyond college. Our strong connection with the alumni of this program is a testament to the integrity and quality that Skyrise is built on.

As we push to recapture and surpass our successes of last year, we face numerous challenges such as the difficulties in competition and the cost of our tournaments. On the surface, your support may only seem like a monetary donation, but with every $10, we can replace our worn practice discs with new ones. With every $25, we can send one of our players to sectionals. And with every $50, we would be able to send a player to regionals. A contribution of $75 dollars will cover one players USA Ultimate membership. Each bit of support is invested  into the continued growth of our team and our players.

Our number one goal as a program is to cultivate a close knit, thriving community. This was what our aim was way back in 2012, and it will continue to be our mission in the future. We first made the transition from a band of friends to a competitive and focused team in 2015. Back then we were known as “Pan-Handle” and we're among the newest teams in the region. After years of both personal and collective growth, in spring of 2017, we were able to make our first push into regionals, a tournament that on the top 16 teams along the Mid-Atlantic region are invited to. Since that first appearance 8 years ago, we have missed regionals only once, and currently we are continuing a streak of 5 straight appearances. In the years following covid, we have only continued to grow, making a name for ourselves on the national stage. In 2023, we finished our season being ranked 17 in the country. An impressive feat on its own, but it also has been the best season performance by our team so far. Then just last year we place 3rd at regionals, yet another team best. Now as we move into the 2025 season, we have our sight set on surpassing these achievements, and to build upon the Skyrise name.
