We are a team of civil engineering students at UNC Charlotte who are a part of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Our organization participates annually in the regional conference known as Carolina's Conference where we compete against other local universities with respected engineering programs. This competition provides Civil Engineering students with an opportunity to utilize the knowledge and skillsets learned within the classroom to real world problems.
This year's regional Carolina's Competition is being held from March 25-27, 2021 hosted virtually by the University of South Carolina. We are crowdfunding to help pay for the registration of ASCE members to the conference and to provide the necessary materials to each of the individual teams to compete in their competition.
UNC Charlotte has participated in the ASCE Student Conferences since the 1970s, and has enjoyed some great success. In the most recent Carolinas Conference held in 2019 as NC State University, the Forty-Niners won the overall regional competition and taking home 1st place honors in Concrete Canoe, Innovation, T-shirt Competition, Freshmore, and AISC Student Steel Bridge. With your support, ASCE hopes to continue its winning legacy and inspire future engineers through our efforts and success.
