French Civilization in Paris

Please consider funding a life-changing experience for a deserving student.

Help create an opportunity for students to experience a once-in-a-lifetime trip during Spring Break 2020. Prior to the trip, students will attend a weekly class where they will study and make presentations on major aspects of French history.

Paris is the perfect place to explore with 2000+ years of French civilization. Students will discover the city's Gallo-Roman past, its medieval history, and the age of the Sun King  at nearby Versailles. They will also wander the grand boulevards of Paris, stroll down the Champs-Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe, visit the Louvre and Napoleon's tomb, and learn about key historical figures and events that have shaped France's capital and its people. 

As they sightsee in Paris, they will present on site the background information they have learned previously and will record their impressions in a journal. After returning to Charlotte, the students refine their journals into a polished piece of writing that will be their Reflection Paper.
