Research That Makes a Difference

Who We Are

Great research starts with a question and the right resources can turn that question into meaningful change.

The Student Council for Exceptional Children - Division for Research (SCEC-DR) is raising funds to support educational research projects led by graduate students in every graduate program within the Cato College of Education at UNC Charlotte. These projects give emerging scholars the opportunity to explore important educational questions, collaborate with local school districts, and conduct research that can have a direct impact on our local, national, and international communities.

Help Support the Next Generation of Education Researchers

Your support will help provide students with the resources they need to conduct quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research across a wide range of topics and areas of interest, including research that benefits students with disabilities.

Any amount helps!

Why Give?

Student researchers help shape the future of education. By investing in their work, you help them gain hands-on research experience while supporting projects that can contribute to better understanding, stronger practices, and positive outcomes for students and educators.

Your gift can help a student researcher:

    • Conduct meaningful educational research
    • Collaborate with local school districts and community partners
    • Explore issues affecting students, families, educators, and schools
    • Analyze and share research findings
    • Present at university, state, national, and international conferences
    • Build connections with future mentors, collaborators, and employers
    • Take the next step toward an advanced degree or future career

A single research opportunity can become a career-changing moment. Your gift could help a master’s student meet a future dissertation mentor or give a doctoral student the opportunity to connect with a future colleague or employer. By supporting student research, you are not only funding a project; you are investing in emerging scholars and helping them take meaningful steps toward their future careers.

Whether you’re a UNC Charlotte faculty or staff member, student, alum, family member, community partner, or simply someone who believes in the power of educational research, you can help give the next generation of scholars the opportunity to turn their questions into impact.

PLEASE GIVE TODAY!

Your support will help UNC Charlotte students become stronger researchers and contribute new knowledge to make a difference in classrooms and communities.

Invest in a student researcher today and help bring the next great education idea to life.
