The Stephen A. and Cheryl C. Jolly Family Scholarship Endowment is being established through contributions from family and friends in honor of Dr. Stephen A. Jolly and Cheryl C. Jolly.
Dr. Jolly began teaching at UNC Charlotte in 1975 after being recruited by Tom Turner. For 26 years he taught within the Turner School of Accountancy and the Belk College of Business, primarily financial accounting, as well as cost and tax accounting. Dr. Jolly was the 1980 recipient of the Bank of America Award for Excellence in Teaching, UNC Charlotte's most prestigious teaching award.
For over 20 years, Mrs. Jolly cared for countless students while working as a nurse in the Student Health Center. The Jolly family embodies everything we associate with being a Niner – hard work, dedication, commitment, and a philanthropic spirit. It began with Stephen and Cheryl.
With their time, talent, and treasures – specifically this endowment – the Jolly family is ensuring that future generations of UNC Charlotte students have the opportunity to receive a top education and have experiences that embody the very spirit of Niner Nation that both Stephen and Cheryl helped establish through their service here on our beautiful campus.
