“Venture helped me slow down and see the bigger picture,” he said. “It taught me to be intentional in a lot of things, to be okay with failing and to always look for ways to grow.”

That mindset carried over into his professional life as well. In his current job, Ungos finds himself frequently introducing the concepts of outdoor leadership and group dynamics into workplace conversations. Rather than just sitting behind a desk, he makes an effort to engage, connect and bring those same leadership principles into his everyday interactions.

When asked what he would want current UNC Charlotte students to know about Venture, Ungos’ answer was simple but powerful.

“Go in with passion and keep the stakes low. If you want the experience, you’ll get so much out of it,” he said. “I went in for the outdoor adventures, but I came out with people I love and lessons I’ll carry with me forever. I feel lucky to have been a part of it.”

Absolutely. UNC Charlotte utilizes a validated Level 1 Service Provider called Braintree that is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). The payment application utilizes the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol and tokenization to encrypt your credit card information and securely process your donation.

Contributions to Crowdfund projects support specific areas of UNC Charlotte and are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Can I send a gift by mail or phone?

Yes! To see if your employer has a matching gift program, click here.
